Here’s a list of counselors and therapists in the Green Bay area for you to consider as you search for the right fit. Some of these are biblical, Christian, and faith-based. Others on this list may not be.

Joann Nitka is compassionate and well-prepared to help people. She writes: “I feel very privileged to be a certified Christian counselor and to work with people of faith, but I feel equally privileged to work with people who are struggling in matters of faith. Their staff of licensed and certified professionals provide counseling services for children, teens, and adults. They believe that the client-counselor relationship must be grounded in respect, acceptance, and trust.

Lois Pulvermacher, LCSW, is trained in and offers Counseling from a Christian perspective and is billable with many insurances. She is vetted with Focus on the Family Christian Counselors and has been practicing for over 19 years. She will provide a safe and compassionate place for you to address your concerns. She volunteers with the Prison/Jail/Family/Aftercare ministry, understanding the multiple dynamics of incarceration. She is an Independent Facilitator for Love and Logic® curricula (who has been studying parenting/communication for over 40 years) and holds classes regularly.

Kerri Schmidt seeks to provide a safe and caring place to encourage healing. She has a passion to help people each day, and strives to help each client experience hope and peace. Kerri connects well with people and wants Romans 15:13 to be true for her clients: “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

Paula Larsen has over 20 years of experience and enjoys helping individuals, couples, and families create change in their lives. She enjoys helping those struggling with depression and anxiety, low self-esteem, those recovering from abuse, relationship conflicts, and grief.

Living Hope Christian Counseling is state-licensed and takes a positive approach, showing that your experiences can work for you, not against you. Their desire is to journey with you on the discovery of a Living Hope that is deep, fulfilling, and life-changing.

Location: West DePere, on the south side of Green Bay

Paul Schroeder-Haag is a Licensed Professional Counselor providing counseling for trauma, domestic violence, PTSD, anxiety, depression, addictions, relationships, parents, divorce adjustment, and criminal victimization, among other things. Paul does face-to-face counseling and telehealth (video counseling). He loves his work as a counselor.

Since 2002, Karen has used her skills as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to join individuals, couples and families on their journey to more loving relationships. She has a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Grand Valley State University and has been a member of the NASW since 1990.

Sherman Counseling provides state-licensed counseling, therapy, and psychiatry. They treat every client with compassion, respect, and dignity. Their values emphasize the importance of every life and the belief that we are always learning and changing throughout our lives.

Lesley Swanson and the staff Spring Lake Church believe that true hope is anchored in the principles of God’s Word. They believe that the application of these principles can help you handle many of life’s problems in a way pleasing to God.
